Horizon 74 Vision Motor Yacht

Spotlight by Kevin Poulter
The Horizon 74 is a charismatic motor yacht with amazing interior space thanks in part to the enclosed sky-lounge design.

With no helm station on the saloon level, there’s an abundance of space for the comforts you’d expect in your residential home.

The V74 hull boasts an enormous 20 foot 6 inches beam and features an extended aft deck - brilliant for owners who love outdoor entertaining.

Luxurious interior details include a mix of dark and light wood veneers in contemporary matt finish, contrasting with a plush cream carpet in the comfortable saloon area. Fabulous granite counter tops and flooring feature throughout the Galley and ensuites.

Whilst Horizon have ventured into steel-hulled yachts - most notably with the Horizon EP148 Ice Class Expedition Motor Yacht and recently launched EP115 ‘Tango 5’, Horizon specializes in composite construction, and the Horizon Vision 74 is no exception.

The designers planned for the motor yacht to be lightweight and extremely strong, exceeding the requirements of the DNV Classification Society.

Built in composite, resin, e-glass and high-density core construction, bound together using SCRIMP technology, the hull features high-density core construction that creates a stiffer impact-resistant hull, whilst helping insulate the interior from noise and temperature variations.

The superstructure was built using the same principles.
The upgraded dual 1100hp MAN V10 Common Rail diesels (with 5 year Gold warranty) are as quiet and smooth as they are efficient, offering a top speed of 24+ knots.

Thanks to the “tank tested” semi-displacement hull, the V74 offers exceptional comfort and fuel consumption. Anywhere between 8 to 20 knots, fuel consumption is approximately 66 liters per hour for both engines.

Born from the original Horizon 68 Vision, the 74 is an exciting logical step to offer more amenities and better performance.
The “Stidd” leather Skipper’s seat faces the well laid out console equipped with the latest hybrid touch-screen electronics from Raymarine (Radar, Plotter, Sounder, AIS, Loud hailer, VHF, CCTV and more)

Modern timber flooring in combination with wood veneer and a great ‘Horizon signature’ pilot wheel gives the skylounge a warm and inviting feel.

Hydraulic ABT (38hp) Bow and stern thrusters help make the Vision 74 maneuverable, while TRAC stabilizers reduce side motion at low speed and when underway.

The Horizon 74 is capable of approximately 400 nautical miles between re-fueling stops at 17-18 knots, extending to a range of about 800 nautical miles at 10 knots.

The superstructure includes nicely sized frameless and tinted windows that elongate the motor yacht, helping to keep it visually balanced. The enclosed bridge is a pleasant panoramic spot from which to enjoy navigation, with great sight lines and forward views.

The windows open for efficient natural ventilation, although this space can also be fully air-conditioned.

Passengers have an ideal vantage point from the raised L-shaped leather-upholstered lounge or a comfortable companion bench, to enable a full sweep of the “Horizon” ahead, where the water meets the sky.

The skylight allows light to pour down from the flybridge deck into the main saloon, providing a great focal point.

Large side windows enable fantastic views, enough to distract from the premium onboard entertainment system comprising of 50-inch high-definition LED TV located in an elegant modern entertainment cabinet, which also incorporates a Bose lifestyle system with three zones (Aft deck, Sky-lounge and Saloon).

Other attractive details include a mixture of dark and light wood veneers in a contemporary matt finish, contrasting with a plush cream carpet in the comfortable saloon area and cool granite counter tops and flooring throughout the Galley and ensuites.

The elegant formal dining area easily accommodates six adults, complimented with a large open style galley full of Miele appliances from plate-warmers to full size ovens and dual stainless steel sinks.

This galley has everything for a family home cooked meal or catering to a large function onboard.

From the galley it’s an easy connection down to the lower-deck accommodations where a lighter wood veneer helps emphasize the sense of space.

The full-beam master stateroom amidships is accessible through double doors and includes a desk/vanity, AV entertainment and stylish ensuite bathroom with ‘his and her’ sinks, plus a generous sized shower.

Two additional guest rooms include a twin bed (side by side) cabin and a forward VIP queen bed with an ensuite bathroom.

A well-appointed and surprisingly spacious crew/ 4th cabin area with upper and lower singles, a private bathroom and work area is accessible through a watertight door from the swim platform area.
Secure teak stairs lead back to the aft deck, equipped with an oval teak high-low table, overlooking the large swim platform.

Horizon’s superior Motor Yacht has an optional hydraulic hi/lo swim platform - a great secondary storage for another tender or a jet ski and the platform gives easy access to the waters edge for swimming.
An additional thermostat controlled icebox is built into the corner of the aft deck area, with a deep freezer fitted under the work bench in the crew/aft cabin for those extended aboard adventures to remote locations.

The aft deck is large enough to accommodate a tender and Steelhead 1500lb Davit (with electric slew), plus a large stainless steel barbecue, refrigerator and teak table set, for those special sunsets relaxing with an elevated view.

Accessible through two watertight doors, the engine room features a clean design, practical non-skid floor and tempered ambiance thanks to Delta-T fans and moisture extractors. Generators are accessed easily like all the equipment throughout this mini Super Yacht.

Comfortable and partially covered side decks lead to the foredeck area. Mostly used as a functional space, it features an inviting sun pad and forward deck seat.

The Horizon 74 Vision Skylounge Motor Yacht features conventional power twin shaft-drive diesel engines with high-performance, four-blade propellers.

Going green
Ideas like low power consumption LED lighting systems and the generous size portholes in the lower-deck master stateroom, which open for fresh air, minimizing the need for air conditioning on beautiful days. A unique “Horizon signature” skylight and large windows keep the saloon bright during daylight to reduce the need for lighting, plus offering more of an inside/outside ‘feel’.

Part of Horizon’s comprehensive strategy to move towards greener boating, this strategy also incorporates the development of a series of Power Catamarans like the PC60, which will debut alongside the Horizon 74 at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. Now there’s a Catamaran built on strong foundations and SuperYacht quality finishes.

Born from the original Horizon 68 Vision, the 74 is an exciting logical step to offer more amenities and better performance.

The Horizon 74 is the perfect combination of unparalleled craftsmanship, engineering & cutting edge design incorporated into an elegant, modern, spacious yet practical overall experience.

The base price starts from $3,696,000
